McLaren was founded in 1963 by New Zealand driver Bruce McLaren and is today the second most successful team in the constructors' standings. In 2025 it defended its title from the previous season to claim its tenth constructors' championship, and Lando Norris became world champion at the season finale in Abu Dhabi.

The 2026 season: Norris with number 1, now with Puma

In the 2026 season Lando Norris races as reigning world champion with number 1, alongside Oscar Piastri with number 81. The team continues with Mercedes engines. From the 2026 season its clothing is made by Puma, which replaced Castore (2022–2025).

Castore made McLaren's clothing from 2022 to 2025. Products with its logo are original merchandise from previous seasons; the current range is by Puma.
